Have I Done Any Good in the World Today?

December 5, 2012

This is going to be the theme of my mission.....

1. Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today
Because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?
[Chorus]
Then wake up and do something more
Than dream of your mansion above.
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.
2. There are chances for work all around just now,
Opportunities right in our way.
Do not let them pass by, saying, “Sometime I’ll try,”
But go and do something today.
’Tis noble of man to work and to give;
Love’s labor has merit alone.
Only he who does something helps others to live.
To God each good work will be known.
Text and music: Will L. Thompson, 1847–1909

I like the song and it has a great message for missionaries and well for everyone.  I feel like I can do this.  I am sure some days will be hard but with the Lord's help I can do anything.

I love you and want more letters,

All of the MTC letters together!

 November 14-December 4, 2012

So i have been super busy, super tired, and my brain hurts with all the knowledge that I have been given.

Yes my comp and I are both going to Montana.  Oh yes my comp and I just moved to a different room so that they could have another room open for the new missionaries coming, I didn't really care.  Four of the nine missionaries from our district are going to Texas.  None in Devon's mission just funny that they are going to Texas.

Sundays in MTC morning is cereal ugh.  I know that it stinks at least that is what I feel. I hate cereal.  I miss cinnamon rolls and eggs.  The rest of the time I am coming to hate the breakfasts yet the lunch and dinners are good when you eats the wraps (healthy food wrapped in a tortilla shell.) They serve way to much processed food.  I am glad there is a salad bar.

I saw some missionaries I know. Some from the singles ward.  Two sisters and two elders.

I heard Emily got her papers started she mailed me. I am excited for her.  I hope she is studying.  It is a lot of studying in the MTC.  We eat, go to class, play sports, eat, go to class, eat and go to devotional, then go to be to get up and start all over again.  Over 16 hours of studying.  At least it seems that way. I am happy we have 8 hours of sleeping.

Sunday is a great day a little more relaxed but still devotionals galore I  sleep alot now on those days and sitting still is very hard for me to do, I am trying to stay awake during talks but it is hard.  Elder Holland came on Thanksgiving that was nice.  The food was good, we were able to relax, had more devotionals and watch  the movie 17 miracles.

I need photos of everyone and things like the house.  Mom you have to be better at taking pictures.  Other things I need is more mail.  I had no idea how hard the MTC was until I got here.  I love getting mail from mom but I would love to hear from more people!

Oh yes and happy thanksgiving forgot to say that when i emailed you last.

I leave for Montana next week Tuesday in the morning around 5 ish so thats about 4 ish in Nevada.  I  will call the house after I check in but it might be super early.

Well mom I love you, be safe I only have a min before it shuts me off

Love ya be safe ill write more later bye :)
